Hey mes petits dreamers,
Today I discovered the Musée de la Vie Romantique or The Museum of Romantic Life. Sounds way better in French.
A gorgeous double story villa built in 1830 by Dutch painter Ary Scheffer in an area teemed with composers, writers and artists. The villa was renovated in 2013 and is a space dedicated to novelist George Sand who was a regular guest at Scheffer’s soirées back in the day, along with other artists and writers of the Romantic era such as George Sand, Frederic Chopin and even Charles Dickens. A very nice turnout.
Today, the converted museum located on 16 Rue Chaptal holds several personal memorabilia belonging to George Sand as well as other very interesting paintings and sculptures of the Romantic time.
When one visits “The City of Love” it is only obvious that one also must also visit the Musée de la Vie Romantique. I will reveal no more! You will have to go and discover it for yourself. Also, another important thing to mention is that there is a charming little cafe with courtyard and greenhouse that accompany the grounds providing the perfect leafy escape for a coffee and cake refuel after your visit to the Museum.
Musée de la Vie Romantique is the perfect summer secret. Shhhhhhhh..
Still getting lost in the right direction.
Bonjour Musée de la Vie Romantique.
A bench for dwarfs.
Always looking up!
Let’s go inside.
The greenhouse effect.
Platforms are always a good idea. Whatever ladies..
