Hey mes petits dreamers,
Today I discovered le jardin des Serres d’Auteuil and went on a tropical journey through space and time.
Located at the edge of the Bois de Boulogne the gardens were completely renovated in 1999 and now provide both the local community and visitors a botanical paradise dedicated to discovery.
Over the years, it has become an eclectic garden bringing together all of the elegant touches of a regular garden as well as the added bonus of charming nineteenth-century architecture. I’m also told that you can enjoy classical music concerts during the summer. Um amazing.
There were many elements of the Serres d’Auteuil that I could talk about but for me the greenhouses are undoubtedly the wonders of this garden. Their steel structures ranging of shades of blue, green and turquoise are just dreamy. Inside is overflowing with specimens of exotic tropical plants and shrubs from distant lands. In addition, there is also the delight of an elegant Aviary with birds chirping in the background, transporting you into another world – until you feel like you’re going to pass out from the tropical heat. Then it’s time to leave.
Suffering a little heat stroke from the combination of a 30- degree-day and my greenhouse romp I really should think about doing more research before I head out on my daily adventures. But realistically we all know that’s never going to happen, as I prefer to fly by the seat of my pants.
The garden is open everyday from 9am – 6pm and is free for all!
Still getting lost in the right direction.
Feeling the heat.
Taking a breather.
Sweet fresh air.
Lost in paradise.
L’entrée de la grande serre d’Auteuil.
Shades of blue.
If I knew the name i’d write it here.
La petite serre d’Auteuil.
Table for one.
More blissing out.
