Hey mes petits dreamers,
Today I discovered Palm Beach, Cannes. The people’s beach.
Boulevard de la Croisette is the backbone of Cannes, which is where you can find the main attractions of the city. This is my hangout for today.
There are many options when hitting the beach in the French Riviera, but you have a tough decision: private or public? I for one would much rather go public than pay through the nose for a place on a private beach where the sand must be more golden and won’t burn your feet.
The private beaches belong to the luxury hotels where, even if you’re not a guest at the hotel, you can still pay for your own special sand. The Royal Beach (Plage Royal) is a good example and one of the most popular options if you don’t want to share your beach space with the riffraff and lash out on your own deck chair.
I’m not interested in deck chairs – a towel on the sand suits me just fine. The Plage de la Bocca, Plage du Midi, Plage du Casino, and Plage Gazagnaire are also other beautiful beaches that you can visit and, best of all, they’re free!
What more can I really say about a day at the beach? I have burnt feet, got sand in my pants, and have a bit more sun damage. All well worth it.
It was good to be half naked on the beach – makes me feel like I’m back in Australia, even if it was only for one day 🙂
Still getting lost in the right direction.
The ocean is calling.
Palm beach here I come!
Looking for a place to park.
The private beach with special sand.
Nice view 😉
Surrounded by the enemy.
The best way to end a day is with sand in your pants 🙂
