Hey mes petits dreamers,

Today I discovered L’hotel particulier and enjoyed a glass of rose in the garden to celebrate an amazing first month in Paris.

Venture down the secret passage, and you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve taken a wrong turn.  But keep going and the curious Rocher de la Sorcière (Witch’s Rock) marks your arrival.  Screened behind the black iron gates is the white Hotel Particulier.  Push open the gate and enjoy.

At the top of Montmartre, near the Sacred Heart, yet nestled in the famous Avenue Junot and Rue Lepic, is a quiet and discreet universe where people come to stay in one of the 5 suites available (if your wallet allows it), dine in the French restaurant, or enjoy a drink in the garden.

The Hermes family formerly owned the house, and it opened its doors to the public in 2007.  Boarded by a private garden, and next to a pétanque ground dating back to the early 20th century, the hotel offers a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle in Paris.

Each one of the luxurious suites at the hotel has an individual concept designed by a contemporary artist.  The overall style of the hotel combines traditional charm with modern luxuries and has fabulous furnishings throughout, cleverly combining contemporary design pieces with aristocratic antiques.

Wander around the courtyard, which has been invaded by nature, and sit down at one of the clusters of iron-wrought tables and chairs scattered in shady nooks.  I did just that, and as I sat I couldn’t help but think, ‘I’m off to a pretty good start in my Parisian adventure with all the great things I’ve done and seen already.’  In the back of my head, I also know that what comes up must come down, but whatever.  I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts.

For anyone in search of calm and originality, I would highly recommend visiting this secret place.

Still getting lost in the right direction.

Knock knock.

L’hotel particulier you’re not so secret now 😉

Getting lost.

Glass of rose? Why not.`

Another? Of course.

Not so chic is my denim cut offs but, in 40 degree heat who really cares.

Taking a pew.
