Here’s a little something I’ve noticed…
When you walk down the street in Paris with a pink balloon, people smile.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t speak the same language, or if you have nothing in common with them at all – there’s still that moment where you share the joy of this tiny little thing that’s just a bit out of the ordinary.
That’s what I love about my life here.
I’d always wanted to live abroad. The feeling was just there, constantly pulling me away from the familiarity of Sydney, where I grew up. But practical matters came first.
Once I finished college, I started my own event-styling and planning business, which took up of most of my 20’s. But even though I was doing the work that I chose, somehow I began to feel restless. I began to question why I was working so hard and what I was saving for. Even though I’d always dreamed of travelling and living abroad, the idea of actually doing it seemed overwhelming. Then I leapt— enough was enough and it was now or never.
Paris was where I wanted to be.
With not a word of French and no real plan, I just sold everything I possibly could behind all I had worked for, because in my heart I wanted something different.
For me, life is now about spontaneity, saying YES, overcoming fears and discovering new ones—and simply getting lost in the right direction!
Everyday I’m discovering new things about Parisian people, Parisian life, and Parisian style. This diary is my way of sharing all those discoveries with you and my friends and family back in Australia.
Hope to see you in Paris!
